    Hi,
Im supposed to be buying a m14x in the next two weeks.

Just interested how many of you think it is worth waiting for?

Also when it comes out is it likely it will be much more expensive then the m14x as I'm on a strict budget?

    Thanks

I'm in exactly the same position as you. Wondering if it's worth waiting for the r2 but I'm on a budget. Also wondering if they're less likely to give discounts on new products? So when the r2 is released it would be more difficult to get a reduced price than it is currently?

At first the m14x r2 will be very expensive!

If you are on a budget get the m14x r1, you wont regret it..

I even got mine with the i5 dual core to keep temperatures lower (a common problem is higher temps with the quad) and every game runs fantastic!

You should also consider that the m14x r1 got alot cheaper than it used to be, check out coupon codes or the outlet store.. Unfortunately I cant help you with that because im from Germany and we have generally (alot) higher prices (basically USD = EURO), less coupons and no outlet store xD

the m14x now is good. dont get me wrong id love a better graphics card. but the current one plays most things at medium settings.
plus the m14x r2 would be a tad more expensive if your on a budget

i dont really think r2 would be worth waiting at all. ivy bridge processor and maybe a 5% performance bump in GPU max ( due to heat constraints).

There is not much room for improvement in this unit as far as i can see. Maybe they will realise how much hardware they crammed into small unit and revert back to M15x .

Its pointless to wait for m14x. instead, make a lighter m15x. dont cram it with even more stuff. leave ample room for ventilation and stuff. M14x's hardware in m15x chassis. I guess that would be an ideal machine for me. and yeah, then we can have the option to upgrade GPU at our will :)
