Well after 2 months of researching the np8130 and this, I have decided on the m14x. Is there anything I should look out for or things that I should update such as drivers? thanks.

If only there were an entire forum section devoted to just the M14X. It would be great if all that information were posted, and archived for others to browse and read at their leisure.

    We can dream.

No, but seriously. Watch out for gremlins. Sometimes they sneak in the box at the factory.

I'd say this forum has covered them all in great detail. Just for you though, a short summary. :D

    1. SATA III - Sometimes it works, sometimes not
    2. Fan noise - Fan is loud, kicks on at seemingly random times (but works!)
    3. Webcam - sometimes flickers, turn off white balance
    4. Nvidia Drivers - get a modified INF, otherwise wait for dell, they are slow
    5. Gaming on battery - A01 bios, machine shuts down at full load, A03 bios, machine runs, graphics crappy. Don't plan on Crysis 2 on battery...
    6. Keyboard - If you get a microscope, wait for the polar tide, spin around 3 times, click your heals, and lean your head 90 degree's to the right, you MIGHT see that the spacebar is ever so slightly uneven.

I think that about covers it. Some nitpicking here and there. Just do a lot of reading in this forum.

Also make sure your service tag is recognized at Dell's website once you get it, and make sure everything works within 21 days of Dell shipping it, in case you want to return ^_^
