Hello Guys, thanks for viewing my little threads here..

Today i wanna share to all of you about i'm facing a problem since upgrade Graphic Card Nvidia GTX 560M to GTX 660M..
Because i made all by myself, so very late to me to make this Tutorial for all people in this forum..
    what i wanna share is,
    - first i'm having a problem while 7 Beep is coming out when i start my lappy
Fix when i replace back on VRAM thermal pad around all that items

    - after that, problem with GPU Drivers.. i run into VGA Mode, while looking for correct driver for Nvidia GTX 660M...
From a BIOS, it tell i'm running in Discrete Graphic Display = Nvidia GFX
that's mean.. My Graphic Card was ok, the problem is about Driver..

Before replacement a small file, you need to download this file for GTX 660M Only ..
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachments/alienware-m17x/90701d1358631577-help-alienware-m17x-r3-gtx-560m-upgrade-gtx-660m-problems-please-help-me-nvdm-m17xr3-gtx660m-v310.90.zip

If you not replace the original file, what will you faced is .. you can't install this latest driver...
so it become like this .. :

What You Need is .. go to your nvidia directory path .. >> C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\310.90\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International
and then open up this DIR >> C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\310.90\Win8_WinVista_Win7_64\International\Display.Driver

Nice guide, but I suggest you resize your images so the guide itself is easier to read. ;)

Hello. I'm new here but I do need some help. I have a m17x r3 and I'm trying to get i running with a 660m card. I get 8 beeps with this card. Pads are placed correct, but still nothing happens. The fan is running, I have removed cmos battery, it works with the old 560 card. Bios is also updated and PEG is selected.

    First off welcome to NBR!!!

It sounds like your mobo isn't detecting the new card. Have you tried a power drain? I had a similar issue when I first got my 6990m to replace my 460m. Dell replaced my mobo for a separate reason, and the new one read the card just fine. Never did figure out the problem. :(
