Don't believe the switch to 6 has been made, it was supposed to be earlier this year but was pushed back to June.

You should NOT need ipv6 to connect to your network (in fact many older routers/switches don't support it). Are you saying that your tcpip (v4) can't connect either? What kind of NW setup do you have?

As to the v6 enabling - there are reg settings for ipv6 (and I can point you to them if you really need them) as-well-as Lan property settings.

It may be that you do not have a NW protocol issues at all.

You may be using the wrong cable. I'm assuming you are using RJ45 (not wireless) & most cables assume that you're going through a network switch (cheap ones can be had for $20) & therefore cross-over the signals.

So most RJ45 cables you buy are "straight-through" cables. If you're going computer to computer - you need a "cross-over" cable.

If you both have wireless (you certainly do with an R2) you might consider setting up an "Ad Hoc network connection (see Pic). Doing this will verify that it's not a TCPIP v.X issue. Good Luck!

If you're dealing with a LAN you don't need IPv6. Heck I don't even know where to find consumer gear that defaults to IPv6 anyways.

Are you posting from the computer that's having issues or are you posting from another machine? Its conceivable that you have WAN connectivity and no trouble accessing the internet but you're having troubles within your subnet, it would be wise to check that all your computers are on the same workgroup.

Its not likely that the IP version you're using has anything to do with your homegroup/file sharing issues.
