First thanks to svl7 bios for unlocking its potential and remove throttling- sincere thanks to u  and thanks to MickyD1234 for helping me out when i was unable to post any replies to any forum cause of my college wifi fortinet web filter :)

At first even after flashing svl7 bios i wasnt able to overvolt...it simply crashed...then i figured out and i did FN+F5 which switches the graphics from primary Intel to now primary nvidia graphics

My 3dmark11 score at stock-P4306 with graphics score 4063 and physics score 8205
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4700MQ,Alienware unknown

never was an major improvement over my old M17XR4 gtx 675m which scored graphics 3dmark11 at 3800 overclocked [a 100 watt gpu!!]

My 3dmark11 score at CORE +378, MEMORY +896, VOLTAGE +337.5MV, POWER TARGET 150%---> USING NVIDIA INSPECTOR
P5942 with graphics score 5787 and physics score 8150

Now this score is matching stock gtx 680m performance !!

    My 3dmark firestrike at stock
Graphics Score 2718 and Physics Score 9523

My 3dmark firestrike at CORE +378, MEMORY +896, VOLTAGE +337.5MV, POWER TARGET 150%---> USING NVIDIA INSPECTOR
Graphics Score 3990 and Physics Score 9459

Now this score is more than stock gtx 770m and again equivalent to gtx 680m at stock and gtx 860m at stock[gtx 860m at stock only scores 5000 in 3dmark11 though strange]

Now that is atleast a 45% improvement in performance compared to stock gtx 765m...it sure overclock likes a beast !!

All this and temperature max is 76 c

    Questions:
The voltage meter is maxed out in nvidia inspector any ways u know guys to increase voltage for further overclock ??

Also i see the hwinfo is not working with alienware 17, the best i could see is 3400 rpm !! shocking my old M17XR4 can go 7000 rpm with hwinfo, so any ways u know guys to increase the fan speed ??

    Give ur opinions guys :)

It is a BIOS limitation. Dell would have to push a modded BIOS out to fix that and they probably won't, there have been complaints about the fans for a long time and they don't seem to care.

Nice results! I don't know the stock voltage of the 765m. What's your current voltage under load?

Happy for you, but that's much lower than stock 680M performance.

AND WHAT'S WITH THE FONT SIZE.

    1. Synthetic benchmarks do not directly translate to real-world performance.
    2. Those are very old numbers. Driver and 3DMark updates have increased scores dramatically. Just ask any 680M owner to run a stock test for you right now on latest drivers, you will see what I mean.

And my eyes thank you for making the font size normal.

You'd be surprised. Here is my score going up by over 1000 points in one year.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor,LENOVO INVALID

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor,LENOVO INVALID

The only differences are +30 MHz on the GPU core plus the aforementioned VGA driver and 3DMark updates.

And even those are old results. I haven't run 3DMark 11 in a long time. I bet if I do it now on latest driver and versions of 3DMark and SystemInfo, I'd get higher scores still.

Wish I could but there's some weird problem on my machine. The physics tests drop to 1 or 2 fps and it takes forever to complete. Same with any 3dmark test. Seems to be something to do with CPU bound physics (which are not used in any games on an NV card). All my games seem to run fine (and heaven 4).

It's been like that for a long time, reckon the spirit of my old doctor got in there, he was always advising me to give up benchmarking (OCD) haha

    Anyways here are my results
    Graphics driver is 344.75
All overclocked to CORE +378, MEMORY +896, VOLTAGE +337.5MV, POWER TARGET 150%---> USING NVIDIA INSPECTOR

Thief (i do remember getting 34 fps average with some old drivers initially now forgot that driver tooo can this latest driver be the reason for these results ?)

No problem, good to see whatever is dragging my machine down is not affecting games!

I don't have MSAA only CSAA and FXAA. Guess it depends on what the card supports. I usually use FXAA as it has the least hit on the FPS.

Are u sure its in stock speeds ??
cause its huge difference when my 3dmark11 is 5800 and firestrike is 4000 almost similair to stock gtx 680m scores
    really confused

Yup, I am running an overvolt (.098v>1.025v) but I ussed nvidiaInspector to reset the card before starting (the bit I forgot on my first post).

That's one of the reasons I prefer what I call real-world tests. Seems that games can perform well or even better that expected based on 3d mark results. My score is so low it's too embarrassing to even post!

The Heaven 4 bench pushes tessellation to the edge and another one I like is PLAGame. This one pushes physics hard with lots of smoke and explosions. Passion Leads Army Benchmark Download | GeForce

Yeah, much closer, Since we have different things like cuda cores I would think it's game specific. Running the latest beta 347.09.

i will try once again with those drivers but i guess its too much to ask far
still i am happy with my overclock and all the games are running smooth at max settings including shadow of mordor, thief, farcry 4, battlefield 4 which were unplayable at max settings with my older gtx 675m
have changed the title of my thread though its not updating

Don't worry about the title, only a mod can change it. The 680m was at least a 40% improvement over my old 675m. With an OC even AC: Unity is running good at almost max-all :D.
