Received my M17x-Rw this monday, and I'm very happy with it so far. It's a beast, but an elegant one :)

Anyway, I've got a small gripe with the media / wireless button. On all my previous notebooks I could configure the wireless button to only switch the WiFi. As I'm using a BT Mouse I would like to keep BT turned on at all times, while I don't need the WiFi to be on for most of the time.

I haven't found a way to do this on the M17x. A search through this forum also didn't really help me out...

Does anyone here know of a way to configure the wireless button like this?

    Thanks!

Yeah, that button is the "air plane mode"... a complete and total shutdown of all radios.

A clumbsy answer is to use the DEVCON command line tool to essentally enable or disable the WAN adapter. You should be able to create shortcuts on you desktop that launch those commands.

Enable/disable a device from the command line

The actual button I don't think so...you can either use the answer graye gave or one thing I've found that I like is RocketDock it has a network center button that takes you straight to the page to shut it off, it's very simple and fast.

That seems like a nice solution. thanks!

I like graye's solution, but will have a look at RocketDock!

How is this a usefull answer? I know that's possible, but I'm looking for a better solution.
