    hi i have done a fresh install of Windows 8 x64 on my alienware m17x r4 with the recovery media ..everything is ok...only there is a strange missing drive.. the id hardware is:

    ACPI\VEN_DELL&DEV_ABCE
    ACPI\DELLABCE


    everyone knows what driver misses? i have followed the order on installing the driver.. pls if someone had this issue i hope he can help me... sorry for my bad english :)

    Uhh, that's not a valid device ID. At least none of the database searches I've done recognize it as one. Off the top of my head, possibly the free fall sensor (accelerometer)? It's a Dell device so that narrows it down.

    run windows update, there will be additional dell device on the list, i think its called dell airplane switch or something, if not try to reinstall alien command center and alien osd, post your results, cheers

    solved.... thx utumkodur googleing Yesterday i have found on driverhive your hint..but i do not trust of similar tools :pPP so i have goggled again and i have found this post about a similar problem on a Samsung:

    so installing this driver:

    i have solved the problem... pls a moderator edit the title of the thread in SOLVED ( i can find where i can modify it..) thx again bruce :)
