What you need is 14M8C board, but they are so scarce that pretty much the only place to get them is from china and they are raising the prices constantly, the board was 100$ a year and a half ago, now its already at 170$ minimum

No, sorry. Every seller i tried to buy it from in the last year ended up being a waste of time. :/ In the end i just fixed my board instead of looking for a replacement xD...
Whats wrong with your laptop exactly?

Its just doesn't turn on. No led's at all, no beeps.. I fixed my old motherboard from m15x but was pretty easy, just replace one capacitor. I'm not an expert but i can make some easy repairs. I'll open this m17x tomorrow to see if i can make any repair. But i'm prepared to buy a new one..

So you havent diagnosed it to be the mobo yet?.... You should try removing gpus, ram, hdd, screen,... And try to start it after each removal i know sometimes the failed gpu can act just as if the mobo was dead...

The guy who sold to me is my friend and he already diagnosed to be MOBO, he's not an expert but he got some knowledge about.
And another good information, he already bring the m17x to an hardware specialist but he said he did not have the necessary components to fix.
For my lucky i've a old mobo from M15x what i used to remove components to fix my current mob, but i'm not sure if i can make this repair, let see when i got this in hands!

    @edit
This mobo Alienware M17x-R2 model P01E could work ? I think its using a dual core processors, i found this mob on Brazil.

Nope, it's for a 45nm Core 2 Duo / Quad platform, it won't fit without additional replacement parts and it will limit you to 8GB, QX9300 and 5870M CF max.
Ok, just saying ;)... it's better to make sure than to throw money away :D.... i'm just saying that the symptoms are in some cases very weird...

    Cheers

Ok, i dont think i'm able to fix that mobo, there's so many components to change...
I dont know how the guy get at this point, and how this components get so bad !
i dont know how to speak it in english but some components are "oxidize" , some kind of liquid.
Everytime i plug power PSU on it, it automatically shut down my PSU so probably this bad components are causing some damage..
supposing, if, just if I replace all of this bad components, this could work again ? or Should i just buy a new one ?

Lul? why doesnt the board have any insulating sheet on it? xD,
There is nothing wrong with the board visually, it's just leftover glue from the insulating sheet.

Anyway, since you are here, you can try to detach everything, leaving just the motherboard + CPU + CPU HS + CPU FAN + Keyboard, plug in the AC and try to turn it on :)
If completely nothing happens you are definitely looking at the motherboard failure. If you get a fan spinning we may still be able to save this baby :D

    Yes that is the board.
I have a working M17x R1 board, (left side usb's dont have the plastic inside, but it's fully working, maybe a working M17x r2 board too, but i have no way of testing it.
@vilali did you try removing the gpu to see if the problem persists?

I can but i dont know if its working, i have 2, i know one doesnt work, but i have no idea about the other, i would not feel comfortable selling it without knowing its status... I'll try to test it somehow :)

Just checked again, and i have 3 M17x R2 boards, I'm pretty sure now that one of them is working as i even have a CPU and HS on it, now that i think of it, i do remember thinking of getting a M17x R2 to put this in.

I'll call up a friend that still has the M17x R2 and try to get it tested asap.

Send me a PM where u need it shipped :)
