My 15 days old PSU failed (dry joint on the output)

Please don't tell me to contact dell cos it is an impossible mission from my country (malta) and the authorised agent sucks big time saying that PSU's are not under warrenty

Q: is there a howto open PSU without damaging it ? . . I uncrewed the 3 screws + 1 tamper proof screw at the corners but case is still hard to open

    PSU is a Flex Tronic

    Thank You !!

Unfortunately there is no how to, I am pretty sure you would void the warranty on the PSU, and you have to call Dell. Your rep is an idiot the PSU is covered under the warranty. Try calling Dell on the phone they dont ship to you? Like I said Unfortunately this is your only option and sorry I had to tell you what you don't want to hear.

The Delta PSU is better than the Flextronic so if you found one go for it. :)

Either is fine. Delta is big, Flextronics is big, too.

Delta is normally hidden OEM brand.
Flextronics makes the PS3's, xbox360's, and Corsair AX1200's PSUs.

EDIT: though the AX1200 has had some wierd problems at launch...
EDIT2: and MS did drop them in favor ofFoxconn (along with the PS3)...
