    Heres a photo of my bios menu thing.

    From what I see my rams at 1.5v From my common sense putting it at 1.7v will mean it will be faster , but hotter?

    Am I being a noob?

    It will run hotter, naturally. More voltage just means more stability at higher clocks.

    No, you're not being a noob. We all started somewhere, and there's no limit to how much you can know.
