    My settings:
    Screen Resolution:1920x1080
    Anti-Alising: MLAA
    Shadows: Soft
    Depth of Field: High
    SSAO: High
    Post-Processing: On
    Texture Filter: 8x Anistropic
    VSync: Off
    Triple Buffering: On
    Tessellation: On

It's pretty much all maxed out except Texture Filter and VSync.

It runs fine and smooth 1 sec, but kinda delayed and clunky (I wouldn't say lagging) another.

Also, is there a driver for Radeon 6990M? I just couldn't find it online.

Do you have fraps? I need some actual fps numbers. I have the r2 with dual 5870m's and I was getting consistantly 45-60 frames per second with nearly the exact same settings as you (and your 6990 should kill my 5870's). Now there were times where it would dip into the 30's but that was not all that frequent and seemed to coinside with various lighting effects or certain specific points in the game...so I wouldnt call it lagging.

On a side note though...I only played the game for 45 minutes and I was inside the entire time. My brother said that on his desktop he was was getting less FPS in the outside world enviroments, but he has a GTX 460 and the game seems to favor ATI cards so maybe that would explain his issue.

i have the 6970m and not overclocking i max out all graphic settings w/ 1080p and get 30-45fps with FRAPS.

it has to be the drivers.

This game runs smooth on my computer with 6990m...everything maxxed at 1920x1080. I'm using driver 11.8

GPu overclocked slightly to 810/1050...but even at stock it runs fine

check your power profile...make sure its on performance.

Download the latest display driver here:

    ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver

Also, check your CPU and GPU temps, it could be throttling if you're getting too hot. Could be a bad thermal paste job

The catalyst mobility display driver says that it is incompatible with my machine. Are the mobility drivers different than non mobility display drivers? I've had 11.8 drivers and just installed 11.9 rc.
These are the 11.8 drivers I was using from amd's site. Is this different than the mobility drivers?

you were able to install the desktop drivers?

For me its the exact opposite. I cant install the desktop drivers. I can only install the mobility drivers

Yeah, I was able to install the drivers from the link I posted. I was not able to install the drivers from the link you posted. In the release notes though, both show compatibility for 6xxxm series cards. I wonder if there's a disadvantage in the fact that I can't use the mobility drivers? The display driver numbers appear to be the same though. I'm on 11.9 rc and I know other mx17 r3 owners that are using 11.9 rc too. I'm assuming the 11.9 rc works for both desktops and laptops...

edit: actually this is a mobility mod 11.9 rcx mobility drivers and that's what I am using. I wonder why the 11.8 mobility drivers didn't work.

now that you have installed the 11.9rc mobility driver...maybe it won't allow you to go backwards without doing a clean install i.e., without deleting the driver from control panel and reinstalling 11.8 fresh?

There is a patch coming out for Dues Ex (should be out already) that is supposed to take care of stuttering in the game, that may be your issue. There was alot of lag/stuttering on single gpus using DX 11, so hopefully that is your issue and not the gpu.
