    Hello,

I have a problem with my sound card, the Creative Sound Blaster recon3Di. Audio output via the headphone jack's do work. The audio input jack doesn't (microphone jack).
Also the headset jack gave up on me yesterday. Like the rest of the jack's, the audio output works but the input doesn't. If I look at the control panel, windows does recognize there is a microphone but there is no action. Skype does not work, audacity does not work.

I tried reinstalling the drivers, nothing. I tried reinstalling windows, nothing. I replaced my whole harddrive, nothing (I'm not sure that was useful).

    I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Sound card, Creative Sound Blaster recon3Di
I used a lot of different headphones, headsets, microphones...

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you have set as your default recording device?

right click speakers: open volume mixer > system sounds > set microphone array as default.
You should be able to just talk into the built in microphone on your R4.

UPDATE: for headsets/Mics: open volume mixer > system sounds > set microphone array to disabled by right clikcing it >close > Plug microphone in pink jack > left click on the microphone > levels > microphone boost set to midway.
