    I play bad company 2, all drivers from 10.6 and up give me 20-30 frames on medium low graphics. Back when i had my 4870's I was getting 60fps easily with medium/high graphics with 10.4-10.5 drivers. Problem is 10.5 drivers give me BSOD and i'm not sure if older drivers give me crossfire support from 5870's...can anyone help?

    Have you tried the latest 11.2 drivers? I found that my BF:BC2 framerates increased quite a bit with these drivers. I can get the game to run quite smoothly for me @ 1920x1200, and that's using high detail settings.

    Also make sure that you have HSAO turned off. This reduces frame rates quite a lot, with no real visible effect on visual detail.

    Here's the contents of my "My Documents\BFBC2\settings.ini" file for reference:
    Code:
    [WindowSettings]
    Width=1920
    Height=1200
    Fullscreen=true
    RefreshRate=60
    VSync=false
    [Sound]
    Quality=high
    VoipEnable=true
    SpeakerCount=0
    [Graphics]
    Effects=high
    Soldiers=high
    Vehicles=high
    Overgrowth=high
    Undergrowth=high
    StaticObjects=high
    Terrain=high
    Shadows=high
    Bloom=true
    HSAO=false
    MSAA=1
    Water=high
    MainQuality=custom
    Texture=high
    DxVersion=11
    Aniso=3
    Detail=high
    RenderAheadLimit=2
    Fov=75

    Have you updated the 5870's VBIOS to the lastest version (I cant remember their ref number)? If yes then the earliest drivers you have to use are 10.8.

    11.2 are pretty good for BFBC2 - you will still get some flickering but nowhere near as much as previous drivers. Also take nzgeeks advice and copy the settings from the file above

    The issue i'm getting is the vbios from the dell site doesn't let me install it. It keeps saying it's only for "5870's." I installed 11.2 but it the game is running at 25-30 fps like crossfire isn't even enabled.

    Uninstall 11.2 drivers, install dell drivers, run the vbios program.. .it will create a boot disk.. use that to flash your vid card bios, uninstall dell drivers, reinstall 11.2 drivers

    Or, you could extract the bios from the dell exe and use atiflash on a dos boot disk to flash your cards.

    "This VBIOS update is intended only for the following videocard
    ATI Mobilitiyu Radeon HD 5870" I clearly have 2 5870's

    Like I said........ you have to have the dell ati drivers installed before it will let you run the alienware vbios update exe.

    Just read the notes on the vbios exe and it will tell you so.

    SO..... install the DELL ati drivers, run the vbios exe... it will then make a boot cd/dvd or usb stick.
    Boot off of newly created boot media, it will flash your cards... get into windows and uninstall DELL ati vid drivers then install 11.2 from ATI.

    If you already have the boot media and are getting this error in DOS then copy the bios to a new directory/boot media and use atiflash to check your checksums and version numbers (you could also check that in windows but I find atiflash to be easier because you can back up the vbios from the cards at the same time)

    You could then flash the drivers yourself.
    atiflash -p 0 bios0.rom
    atiflash -p 1 bios1.rom
    (where bios0 and bios1 are the respective vbios for card 0 and card 1)

    Sorry I'm saying is that I already installed the drivers from Drivers & Downloads first. Installing the driver first and then the vbios. The vbios just doesn't want to install even after I already installed the driver.

    Before you try the VBIOS update, make sure that don't already have the latest version. Use GPU-Z to find your VBIOS version. If it's "012.020.000.027.037640" on both cards then you're already up to date.

    If you do need to update your VBIOS, you don't have to fiddle around with your graphics drivers. You can get around Dell's video card check by using WinRAR.

    When you run the file you download from Dell (R281544.exe), it creates a folder that contains a single file - Setup.exe. With WinRAR installed, if you right-click on the file you should get an option to "Extract to Setup\". Click this option. (It may be hidden under a WinRAR sub-menu.)

    Once you've extracted these contents, go into the Setup folder that was created and look for a file called create.exe. It should have an alien head logo. Run this and you should be able to create the boot disc.
