I'm at my wits end. I've installed 10.4, 10.5 numerous times, had issues with each one. Finally got 10.6 to work, then all of the sudden when I restart and log in to my computer, all i see is a black screen. Then I booted into safe mode, system restore to earlier point in time, got things working again. I installed 10.6 again, and the computer restarts fine now but when I load up Bad Company 2, it gives me a black screen and i can't alt tab or ctrl+alt+del or anything! So I have to do a hard restart.

I've tried changing the dv version to say 11 instead of auto. I've rebooted numerous times trying little things out. Then, on this last restart it gave me the black screen again! Luckily I restarted it and it's working again.

I can play steam games perfectly fine.

I've been at this for over a week trying different things just to get the darn thing working.

    Anyone? Thanks in advance

edit - I've also already tried this http://americadomain.info/2010/06/04/battlefiled-bad-company-2-black-screen-issue.aspx

    update -

I tried reinstalling BC2, and still the same problem. However, I found out that if I went into the settings file and changed fullscreen to false, it loads up.

    Odd.

edit - I even tried loading it up in window mode at low resolution, then hitting alt+enter, but then it crashes as it goes full screen.

edit 2 - After playing around with all the files and such. I changed dx to 9, and it works. This is kind of stupid since I have a 5870 that should be able to support dx11.

Well, you know, 10.6 does not really natively work with 5870s, unless you use the workaround, but then it still might have problems. Dell will update their drivers eventually.
