My R2 has been having this problem lately after a few triggered shut down of my adaptor.

It is always plugged in and 100% charged. but even when I do general computing, the alien head power button will turn orange light (which according to my FX setting means charging or on battery power). The windows power setting still says 100% charged, so it is not like it is charging the battery.

My ac is buzzing like crazy if that helps..

Is this faulty mobo or the ac being bad? Thank yuo for your help! I couldnt find answer anywhere else..

Do you have BIOS A10 installed? It seemed like this update fixed most of the issues with the "plugged in not charging" type issues.

My computer has always done this. Go into Command Center and make both the fully charged and charging lights the same color. You'll never notice it again after that.

I believe mine does it also, from time to time.

I think it goes this way:

the battery charge, once 100% is reached the charge circuit stop providing power and the battery, not used, is in standby..

After sometime the battery, even if not used, will loose some charge, and if the charging threshold is reached , the battery will start charging again, but being descharged just a little (enough to trigger the charger) it will stay like this for a short period of time. The visual effect of all this is the Alienhead changing color from time to time.

at least this is how i believe it works
