I tried several different methods and after 2 hours I gave up and went back to the Dell drivers.

Your supposed to install the dell driver first, then WITHOUT removing it, install a 11.x over it.

this is the method i used:

in the control panel, uninstall AMD Catalyst Suite...this will start the app.

Then choose uninstall all AMD software or something to that affect.

    Reboot

Then install the 11.10s via express install from the file i downloaded

    That's it!

When trying to install the AMD 11.9 driver over the original Dell driver I followed the advice in another thread here (unfortunately I can't remember poster's name) to turn off "UAC" (User Account Control) in Win 7 before installing.

This worked for me with a minor hiccup, but installed fine. Yesterday I installed 11.10 over 11.9 with UAC off and it installed with no problem. For both 11.9 and 11.10 the Intel graphics switching still worked perfectly. Maybe give it a go if you haven't already, it may help.

Well guys I've tried all the methods decribed above to no avail. I have my UAC off so that's not an issue. I am very frustrated to say the least. Do you think installing the 11.9 drivers first and then try the 11.10? Thanks for all the help; I wish we could find an answer.

Should I be concerned that my CCC information is no longer showing the Catalyst version? Everything elses looks right in there, just nothing showing 11.10.

Make sure you are on dedicated card and not on integrated while installing.

    Steps to follow:

    1. Install dell driver, restart. Switch to dedicated GPU (ATi card).

    2. Install ATi driver while UAC is off. If you get blue screen, no worries, will reboot and install again the ATi driver.

    3. Restart. Enjoy your new driver :)

My CCC disappears eveytime I try to install 11.9 or 11.10 drivers. Does UAC off help retain CCC?

Not at all. Try a custom installation of ATi driver and make sure CCC is selected... I see no reason why CCC not to be installed by default. Maybe your operating system is messed up.
