Hello to everyone... Sorry to bothering you peeps again... I'm planning to upgrade to a 120Hz screen, I already ordered the screen (17.3" 3D LCD screen LTN173HT02-D01 D02 f DELL Alienware M17x 17R 7720 0GN36T FHD) and eDP cable (Original for DELL M17X R5 LCD Video Cable DC02C004000 0N392W N392W
), both from eBay, but haven't seen them yet. Hopefully they are as per spec they say they are.

Was wondering if is it just plug and play to upgrade or do I have to worry because of the 980M (about the modded .inf) and my AW 17 is on Legacy mode.

Is it safe to boot in Legacy via 980M? Knowing that it will skip POST and go directly to 980M for the 120Hz?

Your laptop will not even boot in legacy mode with the 980m. If you try to it will lock you out of the bios and you will have to swap to a 800 series or older card to adjust bios. Uefi only for 900 series plus. The 120hz upgrade is plug and play. Your motherboard has a dedicated socket just for the 120hz option. The 980m is a great choice and will do well. Get the prema bios on it and oc a bit to get it up to snuff. Its teeth are getting a bit long.

Thank You, kind of figured out that last night when reading the post, so I decided to ask around to confirm my suspicions, lol! Then I downloaded this app Aomei and converted my OS SSD to GPT for it to run on UEFI. Boot now is on UEFI and Legacy/Legacy Hybrid has been disabled.

Yeah, I've been reading about the Prema Bios and it's the talk of the forum... Any links to Prema Bios on how to or tutorials.

Thank You very much for the response!
