    Hi all,
been stuck for almost a year on a Navy ship and it's time to get another lappy.

Sorry if this has been asked (prolly a lot) but I've dug through a ton of posts and searches and can't find the information.

Other than using the 120hz display for 3D, how do the two displays compare. It's the only point I'm stuck on in my configuration.

I'm not really into gaming too much anymore but still love the Alienware laptops so.......

I'm going with the M17x r3 with the following:

    -Bigfoot wireless
    -Vizio streaming set
-Radion 6990 to lower power while on integrated gpu
    -Blue Ray player

After I get it I'll install my own pair of SATA III SSD's and 16GB of Ram.

Do the integrated graphics even work with the 120hz screen?

    -Thanks, Rob

    Thank you for your service.

The 120 screen is brighter than the 60 and is required for 3d. Cannot use integrated gnu with 3d screen.

Get the 60 hz screen unless you expect to watch 3d movies or games.

The iGP won't work with the 120Hz monitor.
If you still want it, you'll have to confugure your laptop with a nVIDIA GPU too.
Also I heard that the 120Hz panel is brighter, should be because the glasses are dim and the extra brightness compensates that.

Thanks for the info. I don't need the 3D.
