Does this function properly either with HDMI or Displayport? I was reading somewhere that it was locked at 120hz and couldn't get the full 144hz out of it. I am not using my M17x R4 mobile anymore it sits at a desk so I was going to get a dedicated monitor for it instead. Would be nice to have confirmation. I actually bought it last night but ended up returning it before I could test it because I couldn't confirm if it worked properly or not.

which one is it? The ROG swift should work since it only has a display port input, but if you're looking at the older 24" one I think you're locked to 120fps with hdmi. Using a display port cable you should be able to hit 144hz just fine as far as I know though.

    MiniDP but same thing, yes.

The reason I'm bringing it up though is I read someone tried a 144hz monitor and they said it was 120hz only but unfortunately can't find the thread now.

might have been an older screen. I'm 99% sure that monitor will do 144hz. I used to have the benq equivalent which did 144hz just fine and I currently have an ROG swift which also runs at 144hz out of the box.

Looks like it depends on your dGPU. I think it should be ok after doing more research.

The mini DP port on the R4.. Does anyone know if it's Dp 1.1 or 1.2? I was wondering if it supported 4K @ 60Hz...

From everything I read it's dependent on the GPU that is currently using it. If the GPU supports it the DP is supposed to since it ties directly to the GPU being used.
