Hello everyone!
My psu doesn't work properly because my sister dropped it and now I need to buy a new one. I saw that there are 150W and 230W units. How do I find out which one I need?

250w!!!!!!!

Because when I start my computer it shows me a message:
"Adapter not recognized, please connect 150W adapter" or something like this.
The laptop still works but it gets throttled and I can't play games. Would it be bad if I bought an adapter with too much wattage?
EDIT: on the dell-store (totally overpriced) there are a 150W and a 240W adapter. -
lol, yeah it is actually a 240 watt adapter

Edit: 240w is the correct voltage. I don't think there is a 250w adapter.

Hi,
Just to avoid confusion, there are usually two parameters specified on power supplies, Watts (which measure output power) and Volts (which measure input voltage)
Most power supplies nowadays are designed to work with any input Voltage, e.g. 110v in US and 240v in the UK.
The power rating is a measure of how many Watts the power adapter can provide. The laptop will take only what it needs, so it is generally safe to use an adapter with a higher Power capability than is required by your laptop. The higher the output power capability, the bigger the adapter.
Note that there is also an output voltage specified. This must be correct for your laptop. -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
150W adapter is fine for your needs, though the 240W PSU will run far cooler.
150W or 230W?
