So my ranger with the 1070 in it has always had a sound issue. I'm on my third motherboard, I have the a14+ modded bios and no matter what I try (drivers, reflashing bios, different bios, ect...) I can't get the sound to stop stuttering or clipping/skipping.. Its driving me nuts. I also have another ranger with a gtx 1060 and never run into this problem. Any Ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Are you using the Realtek driver or the Nvidia driver?

Have you ever use LatencyMon application to determine the route cause?

I've tried everything power settings. bios flash, everything it listed.. I used ddu to uninstall audio drivers then reinstalled. maybe its this 4930mx es.. I'm about ready to throw it. I put this laptop on hold for a while when I was building a new desktop and I thought I may be able to get it but, nope.. :-( Never seen this, even built my daughter a ranger with 980m upgrade..

Try buying a usb sound card, they can be had for 10 bucks.

Before that though try leaving the nvidia sound driver uninstalled to see if its still slacking on the audio. If you arent using HDCP then you shouldnt need them iirc.

Trouble handling realtime audio, buffer underruns one or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running apear to be executing for too long. One or more ISR routines running too long.
Says it may be power related. I tried every power setting now No luck. It says to disable CPU throttling And check for bios updates. Even on the vanilla a16 bios same thing.

Don't know if you tried this but....have you tried a complete reinstall? I know it's a lot of work but might help. Also try using official drivers from the dell website and only update nVidia drivers to latest ones and iGPU drivers to latest one.

yeah I tried multiple installs, can only use modded drivers with the 1070 and no iGPU with 120hz edp.. Also using the dell drivers, and I tried other drivers as well.

Never had directx be the root cause, for me it was always an audio driver holding things up.

It could be the gpu since it's a new variable but you also suspect the es chip. Can't say for certain sorry m8

I appreciate the help though. Thanks for looking into it. When I get home I'm going to do some GPU and CPU swapping to narrow it down.

Well after a lot of working days I finally found a day off ... and with swapping the gpu and then the cpu no dice.. next step backup the bios from the 1060 ranger (no sound issues a16) and put it on the 1070 ranger that is giving me problems.. I just have to figure out how to do that.. hope it works..
