I have my computer set up to sleep when I close the lid yet when I open the lid the keyboard lights are on but the screen stays black so I have push the start button and restart. Anyone else experience this? The other question is, if I decide to replace my 6990M to a 580m will I have to change anything? Heatsink, thermal pads or whatever. Thanks

Concerning the sleep issue, we need more info: what video drivers are installed?

If you want to change your 6990 for a 580M the current heatsink fits it, thermal pads should be on the memory chips and probably on some voltage regulators and you should put some thermal paste on the 580M die.

I installed the ones from the Dell website. I tried updating to the Revelators link for 11.10 ver.2 and installed right over the Dell drivers but had so many problems BSOD's white screen etc. I had to go back to the Dell ones
