    Hey everyone,

    I just got Wolfenstein: The New Order through Steam and I go to play the game and it initiates the game developer's logo screen of a cube falling, only to crash and return me to the desktop screen. I searched for people experiencing the same problem regarding WTNO and some conclusions that came up is that maybe WTNO is too powerful of a game to be run on an Alienware m17x from 2011?

    Have anyone else encountered a problem with Wolfenstein or any other game (through Steam or not) that crash on Alienware m17x (2011 and up)?

    Thank you.

    I expect folks will need a little more information to help you. At least what processor (CPU) and video card (GPU) and how much memory you have. My WTNO says the minimum system requirements are 64-bit Win7/8, i7 CPU, 4GB RAM and GeForce 460 or ATI/AMD 6850. The experts will chime in, but my guess is that your GPU is too weak and your processor may be. I am planning to buy a gaming computer to play the same game, so I am interested in the answer.

    @lingenfr

    So it turned out that all I needed to do was to upgrade my NVIDIA Graphics Driver. Got the full update and I can now play Wolfenstein. Thank you for all your help. I found some articles further on in the links you provided and I can now play, so thanks man.

    Excellent. Hopefully I will be joining you in a few days when my M17x arrives. I fooled around for quite a few hours with Crossover, VMWare, etc. trying to make it work on my Macbook Air, but no joy.

    So, you updated to the latest Nvidia drivers in order to fix the issue? How about your AMD card?? (or did you just update Nvidia Physix on the system?)

    @ CptXabaras

    All I did was update to the latest Nvidia driver and update/optimize everything in GeForce Experience. I actually tried getting the latest AMD driver, but that went sour for me. But I updated Nvidia and got WNO to work and played all of it through!

    This doesn't make sense as you stated you have an AMD card.
