There's a coupon for EPP members for 25% off alienwares. (hot summer savings).

I just called and got a M17R3 w/1080p + 6990M (only things I wanted as upgrades) configured for $1500 shipped+taxed.

I don't know if I should jump on it or not!! I got them to email me a quote so I can sleep on it and call them back tomorrow.

I don't know if I want a 6990m or a m18x w/ dual 460m's.

Well, on second review I found that it does not stack with the free 360 promotion, so I guess it comes out to about the same, still that is a GREAT deal.

not sure, i checked the EPP site, and it definitely doesnt have 25% off right now.

The offer works. Have to call the EPP number and mention the hot summer savings. My rep wouldn't let me tack on the extra $50 code though. He said with the 25% off deal it specifically mentions cannot be combined with other coupons. Because of that though i got him to give me free NBD shipping.

I just saved $220 compared to the system I ordered 4 days ago. On this system I didn't get the 2x320 drives though and opted to go with the 750gb single drive so I can put in an SSD later. The 750gb is $50 less than the 2x320s, so technically I saved $170. Well worth it for an extra few days of waiting!

 

So I just made the call and am 0/2 with reps recognizing this code. The first had no clue what I was talking about, the second received the email from his manager and checked "the list" of eligible employees and found I was not on that list.

Did you have to state which company you worked for? It appears this coupon has a very limited list as to which employees are allowed to use it, unless I'm just being given the run-around because I have made a purchase they don't want me to cancel..

 

He did ask which company I work for and I just said, "A school district" (which is true) and luckily he didn't ask anything further. I also had an order already on my account (purchased with a DPA as well) so he definitely could see it.

Awesome choice. Won't be very 'laptop' like with the sheer size/weight of the laptop and unit, but I wouldn't pass it up at a price like that.

Just ordered my m17x with: 6990,1080p screen, killer wireless, and the 2720qm for 1722.94 after tax. Pretty happy with that deal.

 

how did you get that price? i got the same thing (see sig) and mine was $1911+tax.

edit: well, you didn't mention the memory, hard drive, and optical drive choices that you got.

 

Those are the only upgrades I got. I left everything else at stock configuration.

A fallback is that anyone can get 15% off a M17x-R3 by clicking on Featured Promotions. Alienware Deals. No codes, no coupons, no secret passwords, no fraud. The discount is automatically applied when you add your selection to the Cart. It's not 25%, but it's not bad, and it's real. Plus, you can still bargain.

 

The 25% discount only requires three things:

1. Call Dells EPP hotline (1-800-695-8133) and get in touch with the sales Dept. (Other dept's probably didn't get the memo)
2. Mention promotion "Hot Summer Savings"
3. Mention that you are a member of a company on "the list" (there are some companies floating around, I leave that for you to find)

The discount is valid, but unlike most Dell EPP coupons this one is only valid if they find that the company you mention is on 'the list'. They don't do extensive background checks, but if your company isn't on there, you aren't getting this discount.

 

Go for it! I ordered mine a bit too early. The best I could find was 50$ off from retailmenot.com! 25% off any AW notebook is a steal!

I did not have to mention I was in any company, all I said was that I was a dell epp member and he went and got permission from his manager for the 25% off. It was quick and rather painless. I think the rep helping me just helped me out because he did ask what organization I was ordering from. I told him I wasn't in one and was just a epp member. Maybe I just got lucky.

 

Can anyone confirm they just bought a system with 25% off today, Monday?

With 25% off, the price comes out to around what he got ($2499 * 0.75 = $1874).

You are making it sound like he purchased a weak laptop. Dual 6990m's are the best mobile GPU's you can buy and the 2630QM is no slouch at all.

 

ATTENTION FOLKS: If this deal still works, I'd suggest getting it. If you're unsatisfied after 21-days, refund it. If they want to charge you restocking fee, call your credit card company and ask them to cover the refund for you. Amex supposedly will cover refunds if the store won't take it back within 90days, so try asking if they'll cover the restocking fee for ya.
