Windows disabled one of the cards (checked in system) Error code 43. Says device reported a problem and windows shut it off.

For me, haven't seen any performance problems...but I am wondering why. the drivers are up to do date. I disabled it and then enabled it and same thing.

Please tell me I don't have a bad card... this thing is only a few weeks old...

This makes problem #2...fixed the other.

I am sure someone posted this somewhere but I hate forums and searches....or spending hours browsing through unrelated issues.

sure sounds like a faulty card. only thing you can try is uninstalling nvidia driver and then reinstalling it, doubt that'll help but worth a try.
When all else fails - contact Dell.

Ugh.... sure hope that's not the problem. It is so tough for me to get things fixed being in hotels all year in different states. That's why I bought this Alienware. Does everything, and has a good rep for reliability...

Mfractal, I appreciate your help in my issues so far with these problems on this new purchase... I spent a good hour and found the problem to the latency issue and the fix worked.

I won't be home until end of November..and I'm moving when I get there anyways... Looks like I will have to wait to get anything fixed. Let's hope nothing else goes wrong. I have 180gigs of work files I would have to backup....ewww.

Well, just got off phone with support after 2 hours. The card is dead. They are going to replace both of them instead of just the bad one.

Right now they are trying to find the cards and a tech to get to my hotel before Wed. If not, I have to be 200 miles from here in another city.

Right now...I am pretty much let down at this purchase. I never expected to have so many problems with and Alienware and all it's hype within the 1st 2 weeks...

I guess I am making use of the extra $1100 total care warranty I added onto the warranty...

Thanks for the help.... let's hope after this has been fixed you won't see me here again... heh

Good luck, as of late Nvidia has had a string of cards that like to get way hot and break. But if you have a warranty no worries, tell them you want the new 285 in SLI :)
