    Hey Guys,

I was just wondering if the 2820 is even worth it. From all accounts of the benchmarks I have seen, its only a tad big faster.. but does have 8mb rather then 6mb of cache, and a higher hz rating.

Anyone find a benchmark that actually shows it running on games?

    Thanks!

Let's just say it's not worth the price to upgrade but if you don't care about a few hundred dollars, I would recommend to get it.

This. Unless you're doing some serious benching it isn't really worth the +$350 or whatever they're asking. Go for the 2720 and put the money you would've spent into more ram / hard drives / better warranty, etc.

Don't get upgraded RAM with the cash you save either. It is a rip off. $120 for the upgrade to 8GB? You can get an actual NAME BRAND 8GB kit for almost half that nowadays. $100 for the 750GB HDD isn't bad though.

The more cache is going to help A LOT in cpu dependent games, but if it's worth the money is something that's up to you.

For me, this as well...not just games, but any CPU dependent processing. If the cache had been the same, wouldn't have done the upgrade (not at $300+ anyway).

I have learned over the years to buy the best system you can afford that meets your needs...lasts longer and no buyer's remorse down the road...

This is definitely worth the upgrade because without the 2720QM, you can't using the faster RAM...
