There are some. No BIOS support means no overclocking. So waste of money.

Vote and leave a comment. Its not planned but with enough vote's and comments it might be offered in the R4 or Dell will release a BIOS for the R3.

No no, I have one and can overclock it. I'm going to make a thread about how to do it soon. I had it on 4.2Ghz stable. Check the benchmark thread.

Without the use of a modded BIOS?? I'd rather have Dell to offer it then to mess around with the system BIOS.,

Yes it is doable without the modded bios. Yes the modded bios provide more features but one can get away with not using it. Stay tuned :D

Ah, you guys have the XTU..

It works on HM67 chipsets, so you should be good with that utility,

the Clevo 15" have the HM65 chipset, so we can't use that utility.......

Aside from stock clocks, is there any real advantage with going with the 2960 over the 2920?

No they are same chip. As seen in the m18x forums it is no longer about which CPU is higher binned but the overclockers skill. It is much harder then the previous gen which was adjusting TDP/TCP. There are tonnes more variables to consider. If you know what you are doing, you can clock way higher than someone with a 2960xm and only knows the basics. I will put up a thread on how to do this soon. I'm still learning from the experts.

I've seen some ES and QS chips on ebay for mid $600s. Do you guys recommend these? The last engineering sample i had in a computer was an old AMD FX-57 desktop CPU. It was tops in its day and it ran amazing

Yeah ES/QS ones seem fine from what we have seen. Guy I'm just writing this guide up. It will take me a while to compile all the knowledge.

There are a couple on ebay but I dont want to the pay the price they are asking for it.

I've send a link to this thread to Dell Bill B so he can pass it to the egineers so they can have a look at it. OC is possible with a XM, Dell cant deny that now.

The Intel XTU is only for HM67 chipsets and above,

and I think as long as the chipset supports it, it should be okay to use.

Bad thing that the Sager 15" have the HM65 chipset without access to the Intel XTU.
