    Like the title says.

Temps around 85 - 86c under a Wprime load and using HWinfo I see my CPU voltage drop roughly a 10th of a volt and clock speed plummets to 3.0GHz. If it's throttling, I'm assuming it's not temp related, if it's something else then I have no idea. Any of you gurus out there have any ideas?

Used iXTU 2.1 to set it along with modded A08 Bios. 99 long power, 99 short power, even added .0458750 volts to the CPU and it didn't make a bit of difference.

Did you ever edit the PPM registry setting? I know that if you don't, Windows will slow the processor if it reaches a certain temp even with the fans running full bore, even if you set processor cooling state to active in the power options control panel.

Don't kick yourself just yet, I had to read about it in the SSD tweaker's guide. :eek2:

Here is the page that explains the steps to edit the registry for the processor power management: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sol...-series-4-5-965-chipsets-stamatisx-tweak.html

To set your system cooling policy: go to control panel, open power options. Click on change plan settings for whatever power plan you are using. Then click on change advanced power settings. In the power options window, scroll down to and select processor power management, then select system cooling policy. Set it to active for plugged in (if its not already set to that). What this does is tell Windows to increase the fans speeds before slowing the processor. Hopefully these two tweaks will stabilize your core voltages.

    Thanks Radji,

Can rep you again at the moment but I do appreciate the help. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

Don't worry about it. If the throttling still persists after doing the registry and power options tweaks, then you may need to tinker with the BIOS. I know in the R3 and R4 unlocked BIOS there is/are option(s) which disable T-States (CPU throttling states). I don't remember if those settings are part of the C-states options or are in a separate advanced power menu within the BIOS, but I know the option to disable the throttling states are there. Hopefully someone else who knows which setting to disable can jump in and point you in the right direction.

I checked the power setting and it is set to active. Haven't messed with registry setting but I have c-state options in the A08 unlocked bios so I'll look at those when I have time.

    Thanks again.
