Did anyone notice that the GPU performance drops when you enable stereoscopic 3D in Nvidia Control Panel?
I have m17x 2720QM 460GTX 3D 120Hz. I OC the graphic card to 850/1700/1400 and get about 8700 GPU score in 3DMark Vantage benchmark. When I enable 3D Vision, the score drops to 7500 or so, even though the benchmark doesn't use 3D. That's 14% performance degradation in none 3D usage.
I would expect the same would happen in games. I'm running driver version 270.61
If you turn off the 3D in NVIDIA Control Panel (click off Enable stereoscopic 3d) the performance returns but you need to reboot after making this change for it to fix itself.
Does anyone have any insight why this is happening and if the same behavior can be observed in different driver versions?

The card has to process everything into 3d, frames/performance have to drop.

He means when NOT in 3D.
You shouldn't have to reboot. Turning it off should be sufficient. That's just NVIDIA. Same thing happens on Desktops as well.
3D Vision drops the performance in non 3D mode on 460m
