Is it possible? AFAIR it's technically possible to get 3D on ATI graphic cards but has anyone tried it on M17x yet?

As far as I know, its not implemented on ATI cards, only Nvidia cards have it right now.

I'm also interested in this to be honest, if it's possible without any external 3D-ready monitor or if it's possible on the RGBLED screen? Obviously, we still have to use Goggles i guess  Primary question would be, if HD5870's do support this, and what else we might need to get it to work. I'm not even sure if i would use that, as i haven't been able to experience 3D (not even in cinema) so far.

if the M17x monitor has a refresh of at least 120Hz, then it theoretically could support 3D with the use of glasses. 240Hz would make for a better display.

Or, alternatively, laptops would be good devices to use the glassless 3D display (like the ones used on the Nintendo 3DS). We generally view our display from the ~2 foot distance that is the "sweet spot" required to see the images in 3D.

One fact I found is Not everyone can see in 3D while useing 3D glasses. If you understand how they work.

you need to use iz3d driver wich became quite unstable on recent driver release but is *should* work i also think the only option we have is red-blue glasses

The M17x RGB screen does not support 120hz and will not do 3D.

ATi relies on third-party companies at the moment for 3D software. The problem lies in the fact that 3D is heavily dependent on driver support. Even nVidia's system does not provide an amazing experience for every game yet.

I have tried two of ATi's 3D alternatives and neither of them were really worth the investment.

Actually nVidia 3D Vision Discover works pretty well on my M17x R1. The main issue was only the screen size is not big enough for you to immerse in 3D feeling.

Now I'm having a 100" 1080p projector. But unfortunately there is no nVidia GPU no more :p
