    Greetings all.

Had my AW17 for about 2 weeks now. Great machine, very impressed.

I have been gaming with no problems, but yesterday, I decided to start getting 'hard data' on temps/clocks, etc.

I ran the 3d Mark benchmarks and had a few questions about my results.

I am only pulling 4400 on Fire Strike.

    I have a 4900, 780M, 16GB, Win8.1, 256GB mSATA + 750GB HDD

A05 BIOS, stock vbios, power mode set to 'performance', NVidia 331.82

All of my games runs smooth with high/ultra settings. Bioshock Infinite benchmark gives me in the mid range of results at Ultra (from Notebook check).

Any ideas why my 3d Marks would be so low?

I ran HWInfo64 and my GPU clocks are maxing at 849MHz and temps only hit 74C, so I don't think it's throttling. Do I need to worry about synthetic benchmarks if the games run fine?

    Thanks in advance.

    BTW - 3DMark 11 is 6300.

Re-ran the tests after flashing with the vbios but keeping the clocks stock.

    Wow.

Fire strike up to 5218 (from 4398) 16% increase.

    3D Mark 11 - 6300 up to 7523, 19% increase.

Dell has really given us a conservative bios, huh?

Me, either. Which is why I figured something had to be going on. It appears to be fixed now. :)

Seems like your problem is resolved but you might also want to check that 3Dmark is on version 1.1. I was stuck at +-5700 with 1.0 until I installed the newer version.

I had my buddy test his Sager with the 780m just for comparison, it pulled 5100.

Thanks for sharing the results. It seems like it gets a little less than ours.

Update. I had to revert to the stock vbios.

My graphics would only initialize after a reboot or shut down about half the time with the 3rd party vbios.

I have ran 3dmark on my new 17 a few times now and i see what you mean heh....on the new Nvidia beta drivers I was pulling 4400 on Firestrike but after reverting to the 331.82 my scores have improved to around 4750.

4900 when I went to 331.65....at this rate I should just drop to drivers from like 6 years ago...then I can pull Titan level scores.

    my 3d Mark scores are

    ice storm 86002
    cloud gate 16179
    fire strike 4003

I am running stock clocks on my 680M. This is too low right ??
