Sorry guys. I know this is a common question with people worrying about their laptops performance / benchmarks. Anyway I only use 3dmark 06 for benchmarking. My machine is the R3 with 2 gig 6970m card. 8 gig RAM (1333mhz). 2820QM 2.3 mhz processor.
Now when I first got the machine I am sure I was getting about 19,800 marks in 3d mark 06. I swear everytime Windows releases updates it seems to nick a few points from 3d mark 06. At the moment Im getting about 19,690 marks most times I run it. Is this an acceptable score? I have seen instances where people get over 20,000 marks. Bear in mind whenever I run the benchmark I dont disable my mcafee virus software, wifi. Maybe these great scores by others are achieved when most processes are killed. I know the score is still excellent and a credit to the power of these laptops but am I worrying unnecessarily?
Thanks
Wayne

Dude really nothing to worry about.
OS performance will degrade in time. I also noticed that my scores are very differents between a clean install and an old installation. -
Ok thank you. Yeah, now you say it I reckon I am worrying over nothing. I use dell stock drivers and no overclocks. To be honest the scores vary depending on which way the wind blows at times. Some days I get a couple hundred marks more, other days closer to 19,500. Apart from a couple of glitchy older games and Football Manager 2010 & 2011 stuttering (bad coding I reckon) everything runs brilliantly.
Now to try and sort out why Catalyst Control Center doesn't always open - last glitch to try and iron out!
Cheers,
Wayne
