So I'm having some issues where certain programs aren't recognizing the 460M. I've tried selecting the dedicated GPU under the nvidia control panel -> manage 3d settings -> global and also manually choosing programs. I've also tried right clicking on shortcuts and using the "run with graphics processor" option... still won't work. I've played through Crysis and SC2 just fine, but 3dMark Vantage and Empire: Total War won't recognize the 460M... Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I don't know if the there is a better solution, but you can run the modded bios and disable the intel GPU when you don't need optimus.

When you boot up windows the Nvidia GPU will be the only one listed.

I got the same problem with my 460m, it's won't recognize Heros of Mighty and Magic 6, and Black ops. Even worse, I think it's also causing me randomly bluescreen and crash.

The good side is, since the situation is so severe, they allow me to return without charging 15% fee...so I am reordering one with a 6970m.

I think best solution is to load 275.33 with modified inf file and you can play the game whatever you want to play. For the optimus issues that s another thing because when you select such preset config then graphic card will adjust many thing in auto but it s better to adjust by yourself.
my GTX 460M working in 825/1650/1600 as overclocked this is my high end safe limit so far which I got I m still working for little more :) this combination can get 17070 in 3DMark06 1024*768 preset value. also can handle Crysis 2 in full with 3D Vision.

So best choise seems so far 275.33 with modified inf for me.

I'm on a 60hz 460m system and had the driver power state bluescreens my first format and install of windows 7. Don't know if it was the order of driver installation and windows patching or what, but I did a second re-install and had it stable on the Dell A01 / 267.64 drivers.
No alienware command center, no couger point chip driver.
Drivers from dell and their order:

Windows patching done after all drivers installed.

I also had a game not recognize/select the 460m for use, so I decided to run just the 460m and while i was at it get the 275.33 drivers installed.

The inf modded drivers don't work unless you disable the intel GPU. It is either disabled by default on the 120hz 3d enabled systems or the GPU is connected differently. It requires the modded BIOS for the 60hz systems to disable the intel GPU and the inf mod to get the installer working. With those drivers directly from nvidia will work on the 60hz system.
