So far, all I’ve done to it is adjust the Dynamic platform inside of advanced power settings.
but I’m curious if I set the bios setting from cTDP to bios will I be able to alter voltage and core clock there or am i stuck with having to use XTU or throttle stop? I also have the 4 pipe copper heatsink on its way. Already have the 5pipe GPU heatsink and just waiting on my 980m.
I am just trying to get the advertised overclock of 4.0ghz. I royally dislike having to use XTU as previous experience it wouldn’t always save the profile and launch it on start up made no difference. Throttle stop works but if I don’t need to use a 3rd party program, that’s awesome lol.

i have mine on AW18 at stable 4.2ghz using thermal grizzly liquid metal, temp never goes up 90. the cpu rise up 100w in cinebench, i have that just setting 1.215v, xtu its nice to set properly setting to get working fine OC. due that AW has very bad OC bios settings.

Personally, I'd rather use Intel XTU or Throttlestop to mess with these settings. It's just safer to do stuff this way as you won't risk bricking your system. Only touch CPU ratios in the BIOS once you've found stable settings.
I have the 4930MX, but settings should be similar. I had to overvolt by 25 millivolts to get 4.2 Ghz stable. You may also have to overvolt. Do this in increments of 5 or 10 millivolts until you find a stable setting.
As for voltage control in the BIOS, yes changing the setting from cTDP to BIOS will unlock voltage control.Last edited: Oct 21, 2020
