Anyone or even a Rep have an Idea on where to purchase and or model number of the hard drive to replace the Blu-Ray. I have not been able to find any posts on the 17 to do this. I have read and heard that it can be done. Any info would be nice.

You can buy a special battery pack for your 17 that has no battery inside just 4 places for hard drives, looks just like oryginal battery, small thin ribbon goes inside your lappy and you can connect it to msata port.
a new thing for new 17

    Hope that helps.

anyways, nice find, and...for what do you need so much space ? 750GB is already a lot of space for obscene videos :D... in FULL HD or 4K even !

Kind of thought it was..lol what good is the extra HDD if you can not run on Battery any more..
I have a lot of games and photos..I do not see a lot of reason for a Blu-Ray. Thinking of Raiding the 500g 840 so I would need another drive.

Price is a little high. $10 is the most I'd pay for one. Here's one for $8.49 plus .99¢ shipping.

    Newegg.com - hdd caddy

I have bought one which is 12.7 mm from newegg and got it for about $10. Anything within that size (or even smaller like 9.5 mm), it will work just fine.
