Not sure if this is a driver issue or not but when I run the test it is not switching to 3D on my TV, hitting Ctrl+T does nothing. Any ideas?

Does your TV support 3D (the hertz rate would be >=120 hertz)? Do you have any nVidia 3D glasses? I'd recommend that you read this before moving on.

No TV accepts a 120hz input. It's either 720P60 or 1080P24.
And you would not use the nVidia glasses - you'd use TV manufacturers glasses.
Are you running with dual display or just the TV displaying 3D? I don't think you can do it with both the laptop and TV display on. -

I should clarify. No TV accepts a 120hz input. It's either 60 or 24 (for the US). For 3D, it's either 1080P/24 or 720P/60 using frame packing. Games like Crysis 2 will be 1080P/60 using side by side.

Did you test if your Apple Mini Display Port to Dual-Link DVI Adapter
still works with 580M and 280.26 or base drivers in 3D?
As Almostinsane noted, I also noticed on my old system that if you have HDMI hooked up to none 3D display you can't engage the 3D on internal screen. Maybe you have similar issue. -
AFAIK you can't enable 3D on the internal display if you have ANYTHING hooked up via external monitor. Also, I don't have a 3D monitor any more, I sold all my desktop stuff off last month, so no way to test.

I have a 100" screen and an Optoma HD66 projector with a 5.1 surround system with 65 watt satellite speakers and 400watt RMS subwoofer. -
-
I have never heard of using the TV's 3D glasses to play... AFAIK you'd need Nvidia's 3D vision plugged into your laptop cuz the GPU on board is the one that processes all the stuff...
-
The glasses sync to the emitter. If you are using an external display (3D TV) then you will use the TV's glasses as that is the emitter that will be sendign out a signal. And you'd also use 3DTV play.
If you're just using the laptop's display.. well.. then... you know how it works.
OP - driver issue. -
yea, I posted on NVIDIA's forums about it. I am sure it's one of those things that THEY mucked up yet AGAIN in the newest driver.
Forgot to mention this error it throws:
Error in Stereo Driver,
NvAPI_Stereo_IsActivated() returned 0 after stereo was enabled by default with
Settings->setDefaultStartupMode(true) -
I had a hell of a time getting this to work on my 3DTV but in the end it works no worries using the TV's 3D glasses at both 720p @ 60hz and at 1080p @ 24hz.
My setup only included the config in my sig and a TOSHIBA 46WL700A 3D LED tv.
For the most part its easier to set the resolution in the NVIDIA control panel to the HD 3D resolutions that it provides. I will post a screenshot this arvo. I do feel like making a tutorial about this. -
Edit: Nevermind.
