I was curious what others idle temps were on their 580Ms. Mine currently fluctuates from 52-57C. Is this normal? The highest I have hit so far is running 3DMark06 which was 67C at 15% OC (which scored a lot less then the 10% OC I ran yesterday).

I thought I came across a thread similar to this, but for the life of me I just can't find it. If you have a link to it, please post. Thanks.

That sounds decent. I get the same. Do you get throttling at around 65C?

No throttling at all. Just re-ran 3DMark06 w/ 15% OC again and scored a 20455. Much higher than my earlier run. I was also downloading some stuff during my first run, which I suspect would lower the score. My temps after the run was 59C, which I'm pretty happy with. I don't think I'll be stressing this card as much as most of the benchers and OCers here. I am starting to get tempted in trying out the .92v mod now :D

Using the 0.92v vbios is fine. Just use it sparingly and only for benching and for the love of God, NEVER use it with Furmark.

With the current 580m shortage you might not want to touch the .92v at all. It does kill cards, and if yours dies right now you could be waiting weeks or months for a replacement because of the shortage.

I did say tempted, but I still think I'm going to hold off. Maybe when they get back in stock, or perhaps when the equivalent next gen is in stock I'll give it a shot :D

Thanks guys, glad to know my system is running well. I do plan to repad and repaste when I get settled in England. I may have a decent paste job from the factory, but from reading some others horror stories, I wanna make sure the pad job is good and that all the pads are actually there.

When you say IDLE, do you actually idle @ P1 state 475/1500 (or whateva clocks) or your cards are staying at P8/P10 ?

Mine idles at 52-56 @ P1 (2nd monitor hooked up) or 40-45@P18/P10 while browsing or listening to music.
