I searched a few different terms and didn't find this anywhere.
I was wondering if anyone had a Dell VBIOS from a 580m yet?
Just wondering the progression on upgrading from 460m to 580m and keeping the 3D

its the system bios. not the card bios which dictates 3d.
but of course lots of people have the 580 vbios -
Dell's price on the 580m is astronomical (astro-comical?) I was hoping to pick one up from a different vendor in a bit and save a few hundred.
However in that instance (lets say a clevo card) I would need the Dell VBIOS.
Back to your post though, are you saying the system bios is restricting the 3D? and if that is the case (as I know it is for say a 485m) did the A08 bios fix that issue for the 580m?
Thanks in advance for any info. -
There's no warranty that a Clevo 580m will work with a Dell VBIOS.

oh i see. yeah.
3d works on the 580 with A06 A07 and A08 -

Thanks for the replies guys!
lots to think about!
Maybe I'll inquire with Dell about the price on the card in a few months see if it's come down.
If it's thought that the Dell vBios will potentially brick the Clevo card I wouldn't want to try that without a way to re-flash the dead card. -
i flashed the clevo bios on the dell one and it was ok..

Do you have a 120Hz panel? If yes, 3D is working?
-
its not working with bios A04. but ive since put back on the dell bios as it didnt fix the throttling.
-
Interesting, well that gives a lot of hope that the Clevo card would be ok with a Dell vbios on it then.
I'll keep looking up the information here and when I get a card you guys will be the first to know! -
I believe you need a Dell vbios for it to work proper if you buy a clevo card.
580m VBIOS - Is it available?
