    hey guys

    going to upgrade to 580M from my 560m do i have to change the cooler also or is it compatible with 580m?

    anyone have for one for sale? or know anywhere? bar from ebay?

    Not really, just remove the one from the old video card and put it on the new one, repaste and make sure the thermal pads are located in the right place.

    i think ive read on here that on that upgrade you need to alter the heat sink slightly. i cant remember exactly, but its something like removing a black piece of plastic/tape so that it will line up correctly. i cant exaclty remember so maybe someone who knows for sure will chime in.

    According to my system the heatsink for those 2 video cards has the same part number (V1K2G) so you should be able to put the new card in and do the repaste. If you need pricing info you can get it by sending an e-mail to [email protected].
