In what game do you reach those temps?
Also the first thing that has to come into your mind when you say temps should be: cooling!
Cooling in the m17x, and not only, can be prevented(and we don't want that) by:
    -clugged heatsinks (with dust etc.)
    -clugged fan grills
-bad repaste/ in the need of a repaste (CPU,GPU..),maybe thermal pads(highly unlikely)
    -high room temperature

the system should be able to absorb the air quantity that it needs to cool down and evacuate heat.
Now i would open it up and inspect the heatsink blades of the GPUs and CPU.

Hi, the game i have tried was HomeFront, i have the laptop on a coolermaster U3 and have placed all three fans at the rear.
The laptop motherboard, all three fans and HD's have been replaced. So far laptop has not powered off when running.
I have checked gills under laptop and blades which all look fine. Could it be the placement of the fans on the coolermaster U3?

Sry also GPU's and CPU thermal paste applied when engineer rebuilt.

The system should be able to take care of the cooling on its own (just lift it a little, having a cooler aids it).
I don't know about Home Front but probably it's a demanding game.
I would run a benchmark test and see how temperatures go.

    Just ran another game,

    highest temp was 82.

Another question, i have done a clean build but have noticed a vast difference between a clean build and the alienware respawn, login times are slower with the respawn but installation and all other use is better, any idea's on what registry tweaks they did in the build.
I was trying to find a .wmi editor to check but have not found one yet.

There are a lot of windows 7 tweaks out there, a google search will reveal them and then you'll only have to choose. I sugest you do a backup first just in case.

They are pretty high, nothing to be scared of but if they can be lower than why not. Also to check the GPU heatsink blades you need to take appart a little your system. The one you get partial access from beneath it's the CPU/system heatsink.
Do you run any overclock at all?

No overclocking, everything as it should be set with the CPU and GPU's.

If i re-thermal paste the CPU and GPU's which thermal paste is best.

Doesn't really matter, the difference is very little between brands.
    I personally use MX-4.
