    Hey guys.

Got an M17x R2 with a single 5870, everytime I go to play a video, whether youtube or a movie, it freezes, screen goes black, and then it says "Display driver crashed - recovered" and the video plays with AUDIO ONLY. I've tried installing catalyst 10.10m but the same issue happens.

    Any ideas?

I think I remember this problem. You have to disable hardware something in the flash plugin option. Try that. Right click on your flash video and change the options from hardware to software or something like that. Then you should be good to go oles.
Enable hardware acceleration or disable it. One of those options should fix it up.

Or try uninstalling the flash plugin driver and reinstalling the newest latest version again.

Try uninstalling your GPU drivers and reinstalling them again. So the whole driver sweeper and CC cleaner in safe mode and then back into normal OS mode again to install the fresh 10.10s again oles.

    Cheers. :)

But doing that to flash won't fix the Windows Media player crashing will it? As it doesn't utilise flash?

    Will try a reinstall though.

Yeh the flash one was only for flash vids.

The 10.10s might have a problem with videos. Not to sure however some people have encountered issues. Worse comes to worse you will just have to go back to using dells drivers for the time being till AMD gets it act together oles. Also check you codecs if you have any installed. I normally use the latest K-lite full codec package with no troubles.

    Cheers. :)
