Is it possible to install Official ATI drivers instead of Dell drivers with an m17x with 5870 in crossfire?

Dell's website still lists the september '10 drivers as the latests, is there not some newer drivers available?

my GPU-Z lists my version as : atiumdag 8.763.0.0/Win7 64, are those the one i should run?

    Thanks!

they are super conservative with their drivers. The new 11.4 betas (search) are the best ATM. I use those and from the old dells you can expect about 1k difference in 3dmark vantage which is pretty significant.

I use them for benching. 11.4 are good drivers. Not sure on gaming stability. See my m17x vantage score in my Sig and you'll see why i like them

Is it possible to simply install the ATI beta drivers right over the Dell drivers? are they ''lazy install'' compatible also?

    de-install first!

look up the driver-threads. in the first post there are always very detailed instructions on how to correctly install a new driver.
