I just got my laptop back from dell. I just noticed that they replaced my dual 4870's with a single 5870. Can anyone tell me is this a faster?

Slower...Call Dell and have them give you your 4870s or another 5870. CF 4870s outperform a single 5870 since a CF 4870 setup is only about 10-15% slower than a CF 5870 setup.

Nice, just pray that they send you the right one, many people here spent weeks trying to get the right card. But in the end, it's all worth the wait :)

Nice to hear they are sending you another 5870. That was completely unacceptable. At least you got an upgrade for all of you hassle.

Congratulations. You'll be very happy with that setup. Did they mention the CrossFire cable, heatsink, and fan? Not that it should be of any concern, but you can't install the 2nd card without all that stuff.

Well they're sending out a dell guy out here. Last time they sent out a dell guy to replace my 4870's, it was the first time he opened the box and all it was was the cards itself. Besides that I knew about the laptop more than the guy. At least he enjoyed watching "The Office" with me

You can replace the cards yourself. I always ask for it and Dell never has a problem letting me do the job myself. Only thing they won't let you touch is the mobo it seems.
