So I just got my video cards replaced because I could not enable crossfire. It said the crossfire cable is not connected or connected improperly. I told dell and they sent a tech out to replace (I think one of the video cards) but not the crossfire cable, I dont believe.
Now, I have blue screens after 20 minutes of gaming in crossfire. Also it will sometimes bluescreen while trying to enable crossfire.
The tech said that they want to replace the motherboard/CPU/crossfire cable.
My question is that the tech said he will replace the cable but I thought that the cable is not seperate and permanently attached to one of the video cards. Is this true? He said as far as he knows, the cable is completely seperate and thats why theres a different stock number. Im worried they wont replace it because of this confusion. (I was told they were going to replace the cable but it never got done..maybe because of this?)

The cable is seperate. Just remove the heat sinks and it comes off.

Yes what DR650 said. The cable is easily removed (I've replace two of them myself)..once the heat sink is removed it simply unplugs from the slot on each card. Good luck!
