I'm pulling a 3dmark06 of about 13523 with i7 720 and 5870m xfire. I know that can't be right... I'm also only getting about 10-15 fps in Dirt 2's benchmark with ultra settings and AA at 8x.

I'm a little lost as to what the issue is, if anyone has any idea what the issue could be. I'd appreciate it.

I also checked the gpu z and my cpu z and the temps/ clocks all seem to be correct. I'm going to call alienware tomorrow, but I'm not sure if they'll be of much help. Thanks ahead of time.

Oh, here are the individual scores.

    SM2.0 Score 4973

    HDR/SM3.9 Score 7434

    CPU Score 3134

Hopefully these will better allow you to speculate. Thanks again.

3d o6 is a highly CPU dependant benchmark. most 720s score in the low 14000s. the 720 is just a meh ok CPU. core clocks with 4 cores runnning is 1.7 i believe. the only thing to do is make sure x-fire is enabled, & power play is on in CCC. check the drivers you are using.

Dell is saying that's accurate, and so is Mandrake, so I dunno.

I see, that makes sense. Which tests are more GPU dependent?

Is it the processor that is holding it back?

The alienfx is also on the fritz, so I called them and now they're sending a technician with a new Motherboard on tuesday. Does that sound right? I mean, has anyone else had that issue? Additionally, my mouse/touchpad sometimes doesn't allow me to click on things, but it will still allow me to move the cursor.

if you have 5870s the 10.6 most likely wont work, search the fourm there are some threads on it.

3d mark Vantage is more of a GPU benchmark, try that, and yes the cpu is holding it back somewhat.

For these synthetic benchmarks especially with the ATI cards, the faster the proc the higher the score. As your CPU score goes up so will the other scores with more Mhz.
