I purchased the m17x with dual 4870's and 620m.. I can barely run SC2 on medium :( I think the 620m is whats holding me back.. What would be a great upgrade choice from the 620m I'm looking to spend 200-300$

    Hmm... really?

I have the 720qm / Dual 4870's and I can run with ashtefere's recommended settings with a mild OC to 600/1000....

something's wrong perhaps? I reckon 620m will be faster than the 720qm in SC2....

600/1000? have a link to this?
and yeah, sc2 runs fine on medium/high but ultra.. geeze such a huge loss in performance.. and if i put AA on 8x it bogs it down unplayable even on low/medium.. not sure whats going on >.> maybe its because windows 7 x64? my old computer has a amd 3800+ x2 and a ati hd 5750 and it runs it flawlessly on ultra. .. but that comp is using win 7 32bit.

I have not looked @ Pc system requirements for Starcraft 2 you will likely know, being a Blizzard game it will probably not have a Crossfire profile so will probably play better on one 4870.Have you tried disabling crossfire?.Very unlikely the 620M is holding you back with its high clocks unless its a quad core optimized game?.I have similar setup with Dual 4870's i7 620M & it beast's any game i tried so far.

Well the 600/1000 is through RBE and winflash.. Overclocked the VGA cards,

    yeah, ultra we can't run..

    That's for the 9xx xm CPU's with 5870 crossfires...

Just go for high settings, they aren't that different from ultra anyway :D
