Hi guys I was browsing the internet and found this

    http://www.intelligentmemory.com/dram-modules/ddr3-so-dimm/

16gb sticks of sodimm ddr3. It does talk about only being compatible with Intel broadwell and select mobo's but do you think it could work in previous generation Alienwares with a few bios mods?

as Drake said will not work on intel mobile CPU's prior to broadwell. and even many of those motherboards will not support the 16GB SODIMMS sadly. Ironically they WILL work ion many old units with AMD APU's

I thought that, but Linustechtips did it on a gigabyte brix which only has a 5200U in it and supports up to 16gb of ram yet they managed to put 2 16gb sticks in it and windows found and used the 32gb, they also tested this on one of MSI's laptops with a 4xxx series with 48gb but that only found 32gb and they thought it was to do with mobo and bios restrictions. I know many of you around here are very tech savvy with this stuff so maybe someone could have done a bios mod to see if it could work.
