So here is the story, my friend got his hands on a Clevo 675m with Dell bios.

His M17X R3 had the ATI 6870m so he asked me to change from that one to the new one (675m).

    Here is what i´ve done.

Flash the unlocked A08 bios u will need it.

Uninstall all AMD Drivers (use driver sweeper).

    Restart

Disable Intel HD on the Computer > Manage > Device Manager

    Restart

Windows will install its VGA Driver, make sure u can see windows boot and the resolution is low.

    Restart

Go into bios, disable integrated graphics, and change primary display to PEG.

    Save changes and exit.

Install HWinfo to control the graphics card fan. or else it will overheat, tested with BF3 and the new Ghost recon.

Now u will boot into windows, install latest nvidia drivers, get them from laptopvideo2go.com, because of the modded info.

Thats it, its possible and compatible. HDMI sound and image works fine.

Welcome, thanks for your insight. Plus I really like a well written OP. We all knew this as the GTX 675m is identical to a GTX 580m just with a different vbios.

    Thanks for the compliment.

Plus u can overclock the card with the MSI Afterbuner.

Playing BF3 temperatures didn´t go above 70 with fans crancked to 7000 rpm in HWinfo.

FPS with everything in Ultra, no motion blur (useless for FPS gaming in my opinion), didn´t drop bellow 30, average 50+.

Temps in idle between 40 and 50 C, using Diamond 7 thermal paste.

Im going to ask him for some benchmarks.
