If for example im playing black ops 2, my 680m down clocks its self sometimes. It will play completely lag free and perfect for a while than all of a sudden i will get lag for a few seconds. After looking at GPU-Z my gpu is clocked at 758mhz and then dips, then goes back up. Sometimes it goes to 454mhz sometimes its less it just depends. Here is a screen shot of what im talking about.

Also im using the stock vbios at stock clocks.

If you go to nvidia control panel

See how the power management mode is? Maybe keeping it at maximum performance may keep the clocks at the highest without dynamically lowering the clock speeds as it doesn't think it needs them.

Also are you on the latest drivers I assume? 310.70 WHQL I trhink we are up to now.

Also, are you running on batteries? Make sure you are plugged into AC.
