Upon completing a clean install of Windows 7, I run windows update and about halfway through I get a BSOd that shuts the laptop down. It repeats thisnover and over, so I booted into safe mode removed the Nvidia drivers and the problem disappears.

    Any help?

Maybe try doing a selective update and only pick the critical s .. try and see what actual update is causing it by narrowing it down.

Its as if 1 of the updates is clashing with the Nvidia drivers.

Maybe I needed SP1 installed first?

Ive gone back to trying to get Windows 8 to install now.

Everything went fine with 8 untill an hour later its just kept bsod with less then equal or something.

With 7 it just locks up at the update stage.

Honsetly im this close to smashing this thing to peices.

Well, so far so good. Windows 8 clean install complete. No to see what issues we run into. Last time it was after i had installed BF3 and punk buster was playing up.

    Thanks for the link J.

Sounds good, make sure you enable the .net frameworks btw, might as well turn them all on, some are off by default!

You've got the Eurocom 680m, yes? If so, why not uninstall all the Nvidia drivers, then run the Windows update. If all goes well, try and install the 680m drivers again and see what shakes loose.
